Is Gardening Good Exercise? The Surprising Health Benefits of Gardening

In 2016, after I had heart valvular surgery that replaced both my aortic valve and mitral valve, we hoped my low oxygen problems would resolve. They did not. While recovering from my surgery a leak in my chimney brought wood burning smoke in and I developed COPD.

I was too weak to do anything about it and before I could get it covered I had lung damage, with a diagnosis of COPD. WHAT TO DO: I prayed a lot about it and was led to the herb Mullein.

I continue to use Mullein tea once a day, wherever I go. I have told many people about it and have received many calls of "Thanks! It works!" WHERE TO GET IT: Mostly steep hillsides, railroads, and roadsides. It likes well drained soil and plenty of sunshine.

WHEN TO HARVEST: Flowers in the spring and leaves in the fall. If you harvest when the leaves are green, the tea will taste green. It is best to harvest when the leaves have dried naturally.
